US driver pulled over with huge African bull riding shotgun in car

09:42 31.08.2023

The call came in around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, alerting the Norfolk Police Division to a peculiar sight on Highway 275. A man, later identified as Lee Meyer of Neligh, was driving down the highway in a compact car with an unexpected passenger - a massive Watusi bull.

Upon receiving the call, officers were initially skeptical, thinking that it might be a small calf or something that could actually fit inside the vehicle. However, when they arrived at the scene, they were dumbfounded by the sight that greeted them.

Photos of the incident captured the immense black and white bull, named Howdy Doody, sitting nonchalantly in the modified car. Its hulking shoulders, head, and monster horns stuck up from where half the roof and windshield used to be. The passenger door had been replaced with a metal guardrail typically found in cattle enclosures. To add to the spectacle, a sign on the railing proudly proclaimed, "Nebraska's Big Rodeo Parade: Best Car Entry."

Realizing the potential traffic violations that were occurring, the officers performed a traffic stop and approached the driver, Lee Meyer. While the situation was undeniably absurd, the officers decided to issue Meyer with warnings rather than citations. "There were some citable issues with that situation," explained Captain Chad Reiman. "The officer chose to write him a warning and ask him to take the animal back home and leave the city."

After the encounter with law enforcement, Meyer and Howdy Doody made their way back home. The news report does not mention whether they received any unusual reactions from other drivers on the road, but one can only imagine the shock and amusement that must have followed their unconventional journey.

This incident serves as a reminder that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. While it may be tempting to dismiss such stories as mere urban legends or exaggerated tales, the photos and eyewitness accounts solidify the fact that a man in Nebraska did indeed drive down a highway with a gigantic-horned Watusi bull as his passenger.
