He also played a significant role for the Australian national team at the World Cup, averaging a team-leading 19.4 points.

These photos depicted Giddey embracing a female from behind, accompanied by a caption that read, "just f-ed josh giddey." Internet rumors quickly spread, suggesting that the girl in question is only 15 years old.
