In a horrific incident that shocked the Queens borough of New York City, a man armed with a steak knife went on a stabbing spree, killing four members of his extended family, including two children. The incident took place on Sunday morning in the Far Rockaway neighborhood.

The tragic events unfolded when a young girl called the police to report that her cousin was killing her family members. The New York City Police Department responded immediately to the distress call. Upon their arrival at the scene, the suspect, a 38-year-old man, attacked the officers with the knife, stabbing two of them. In an act of self-defense, one of the officers shot and killed the suspect. The injured officers were transported to a hospital and are expected to recover from their wounds.

Authorities revealed that the suspect had previously been arrested for a domestic violence incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this point.

The victims of this gruesome attack included a 12-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s. The 11-year-old girl was found lying in front of the house, while the other three victims were discovered inside bedrooms. Tragically, they succumbed to their injuries. Additionally, a 61-year-old woman was also stabbed and is currently in critical condition, being treated at a local hospital.

During the attack, the suspect set fire to a couch in the living room of the house, creating a dangerous situation for the responding officers. As a result, the police had to wait for the arrival of the fire department to extinguish the flames before they could enter the home.

The scene was described as chaotic, with multiple victims, a burning house, and a deranged man on a rampage. Patrick Hendry, the head of the New York Police Department's police union, commended the bravery and skill of the officer who shot and neutralized the suspect, considering the officer had been stabbed during the altercation.
