A Bella Vista, Arkansas man has been arrested and is currently being held on a $1 million bond after being discovered in possession of six live bombs. Lawrence Hickman, 52, allegedly planned to flee the country in order to avoid trial in Texas. The incident came to light after a woman called the Bella Vista Police Department on December 9th to report that Hickman had been harassing her.

Upon arriving at Hickman's residence, officers met with the woman who informed them that she had found a bottle of chloroform in one of Hickman's dresser drawers. Disturbingly, she also revealed the existence of pipe bombs in a plastic bag within his home on Bishampton Lane. To ensure the safety of the neighborhood, the Bentonville Bomb Squad was called in and nearby residents were evacuated from their homes.

Upon inspection, the bombs were confirmed to be live after an X-ray examination. The situation became even more alarming when it was discovered that Hickman was nowhere to be found, with the woman claiming to have no knowledge of his whereabouts. However, a neighbor divulged that Hickman had expressed aspirations of kayaking to the Philippines, where his wife resided. Additionally, he had plans to travel to Alaska and venture through the treacherous Bering Sea. The neighbor also disclosed that Hickman had mentioned the pipe bombs were intended for sharks and pirates, while he possessed alcoholic beverages for Russians.

Law enforcement agencies were on high alert for Hickman's potential escape, and on December 13th, he was apprehended at a pier in Pacific County, Washington. At the time of his arrest, Hickman was found in possession of two inflatable kayaks, suggesting that he was indeed planning to carry out his escape plan. Further inspection of his belongings revealed an AR-style rifle, a pistol, a bolt-action rifle, a compound bow, ammunition, black powder, a laptop, SD cards, and a USB drive.

Detectives involved in the case strongly believe that Hickman was attempting to flee the United States in order to evade his impending trial in Texas. As a result, Hickman is facing charges of six counts of criminal possession of explosive material or destructive device. He has been ordered to be held on a staggering $1 million bond.

Hickman is scheduled to appear back in court on January 8th to face these charges. The seriousness of the situation and the potential harm that could have been caused by the live bombs highlights the importance of swift action and the cooperation of law enforcement agencies across state lines.
