Susan Sarandon and her ex-husband Chris Sarandon recently sat down for an episode of Chris' podcast, "Cooking By Heart," where they delved into their marriage and reminisced about their wedding. The couple, who were married from 1967 to 1979, shared some hilarious and heartwarming anecdotes from their big day.

During the podcast episode, Susan revealed that her brother, Phillip Tomalin Jr., had hooked up with one of her bridesmaids during their wedding. She jokingly referred to it as a successful trip for her brother, who was the only sibling able to attend the wedding. The couple laughed as they recalled the domestic hijinks that took place on their special day.

Susan also shared that her mother, Lenora Criscione Tomalin, was pregnant at the time of the wedding and didn't exactly approve of it. She recalled her mother allegedly telling her, "Oh now you can't get married," which Susan attributed to her mother being self-conscious about her pregnancy. Despite her objections, both of Susan's parents attended the wedding. However, her mother sat at the back of the church for only 10 minutes, wearing a black raincoat, further displaying her disapproval.

Chris described their wedding as a "potluck wedding," where guests brought their own items, such as liquor. The event took place at a theater in Washington, D.C. Although their marriage ended in divorce, the couple still clearly share warm feelings for each other. Susan emotionally expressed how Chris saved her life with his kindness, particularly during a time when she was not stable due to her upbringing.

Chris reciprocated Susan's sentiments, stating that their formative relationship was always important and cannot be left behind completely. He praised Susan as an extraordinary human being and emphasized that their love may have transformed into a different kind, but it still exists.

Following her divorce from Chris, Susan entered into a long-term relationship with Tim Robbins, with whom she shares two sons, Jack Henry Robbins and Miles Robbins. She also has a daughter, Eva Amurri, from her relationship with Italian director Franco Amurri.

Chris went on to marry model Lisa Ann Cooper in 1980, with whom he had three children before divorcing in 1989. He later married Joanna Gleason in 1994, and they are still together.
