Will Ferrell crashes USC frat party as DJ during family weekend

Will Ferrell made quite the splash during Family Weekend at the University of Southern California, where his son Magnus is currently a sophomore. The comedic actor, known for his roles in "Saturday Night Live" and movies like Elf and "Anchorman," showed up at a Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity party and took on the role of DJ. Videos of Ferrell's DJ skills quickly went viral on social media, showcasing him in a black tracksuit, backwards baseball cap, shades, and headphones, fully immersed in the music.

One video, shared on social media, depicted Ferrell on stage, enthusiastically pumping his hand in the air as Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" pumped through the speakers, surrounded by a crowd of young partygoers. The scene was reminiscent of his character from the movie "Old School," embodying the persona of Frank the Tank. Another video captured Ferrell dancing and fist-bumping to the explicit hit "N-s in Paris" by Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Ferrell, 56, graduated from USC himself in 1990, giving him a special connection to the university. His eldest son, Magnus, who is following in his footsteps as an aspiring musician, is currently studying at USC as well. According to Magnus' verified Instagram page, he has plans to release new music on October 15th and will be hosting a release party at the Vermont Hollywood, with a guest appearance by Deacon, the son of actress Reese Witherspoon.

Representatives for Ferrell did not immediately respond to requests for comments from Fox News Digital. Ferrell's appearance at the fraternity party was not the only notable parental visit during USC's Family Weekend. Vanessa Bryant, the wife of the late Kobe Bryant, also made an appearance to support her daughter Natalia. Bryant shared multiple pictures on social media, expressing her support for her daughter and the university.

In addition to his DJ skills and USC connection, Ferrell has been vocal about his experiences as a father. In a 2015 interview with People magazine, he humorously compared fatherhood to running a prison, jokingly saying, "What happens with three boys is you end up barking out orders like, 'Upstairs now!' 'Brush teeth!' 'Lights out!'" Despite his comedic take on parenting, Ferrell admitted to moments of strictness and losing his temper, contrasting with his usual funny persona. He emphasized the importance of communication with his children, stating that talking to them at least once a week is essential.

While Ferrell's DJ performance stole the spotlight during USC's Family Weekend, the university's football team also had an exciting game, narrowly beating the University of Arizona in overtime with a score of 43-41. The combination of Ferrell's appearance, the presence of other famous parents, and the thrilling football game undoubtedly made for a memorable weekend at USC.
