Texas Cheerleader Found Dead in Bathtub of Apartment, Undocumented Migrant Arrested

The tragic death of 16-year-old Texas cheerleader, Lizbeth Medina, has sparked outrage and criticism towards the Biden administration from mothers who have lost their children to crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Lizbeth Medina was discovered dead in her mother's apartment bathtub on December 5th, and police have since apprehended a suspect in connection with her murder. Rafael Govea Romero, an undocumented male, was arrested by the Edna Police Department in Schulenburg, Texas. Authorities believe that Romero is responsible for the death of Medina.

The mothers of two children killed by illegal immigrants have publicly called out Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for the lack of action and security at the border. Agnes Gibboney, whose son was murdered in 2002, directly blamed Mayorkas for the murder of Lizbeth Medina, stating that he has "blood on his hands." Gibboney, along with fellow angel mom Laura Wilkerson, expressed their frustration with the current state of the border, claiming that it is open and that the administration has no idea who is coming into the country or what their intentions may be. They called for Mayorkas to be impeached and demanded stronger border security measures to prevent more innocent lives from being lost.

Rafael Govea Romero, the suspect in Lizbeth Medina's murder, is currently being held on a $2 million bond. The 23-year-old undocumented male has been charged with capital murder and has been placed on an ICE detainer. The arrest came after the Edna Police Department received information regarding Romero's whereabouts and coordinated with the Schulenburg Police Department to apprehend him. Police seized a motor vehicle and other items of evidence that connect Romero to the murder of Lizbeth Medina.

Lizbeth's mother, Jacqueline Medina, discovered her daughter's lifeless body in their apartment's bathtub after she failed to show up for a Christmas parade. Jacqueline does not know the suspect and has expressed her grief and shock over the loss of her daughter. She described Lizbeth as an "amazing, good girl" who cared deeply for her friends and family. The investigation into Lizbeth's murder is ongoing, and authorities are being cautious in releasing information to protect due process and avoid a trial by press conference.

The community of Edna is grieving the loss of Lizbeth Medina and has rallied around her family. A GoFundMe page titled "Justice for Lizbeth Medina" has been created to support their efforts in seeking justice for their daughter. The Edna Police Department and Texas Rangers have been commended for their dedication and hard work in investigating the crime. The police chief thanked his officers and other agencies that have assisted in the case.

The tragic death of Lizbeth Medina serves as a reminder of the need for stronger border security and stricter immigration policies. It has reignited the debate over illegal immigration and the safety of American citizens. As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a young life and hopes for justice to be served.
