San Francisco woman allegedly linked to fatal stabbing of Cash App founder has DUI charges dismissed

07:29 12.12.2023

In a surprising turn of events, the San Francisco District Attorney's office has discharged the DUI charges against Khazar Momeni, the sister of Nima Momeni, who is accused of fatally stabbing Cash App founder Bob Lee earlier this year. The charges have been dropped "pending further investigation," according to a statement by the district attorney's office. Khazar Momeni, 38, was arrested last month after allegedly crashing her car near the Tenderloin area of San Francisco. She was booked on suspicion of DUI, hit and run, failing to drive within a lane, and failing to provide proof of financial responsibility.

However, the district attorney's office has chosen to put the official charges on hold as they await the toxicology report from the Medical Examiner. The office emphasized that this is a routine procedure, as discharging cases involving a blood draw for toxicology due to a delay in receiving the report is a common occurrence.

The incident involving Khazar Momeni took place on November 27 when she allegedly crashed her white Mercedes coupe into two parked cars. Two firefighters claimed to have witnessed her inhaling from a whip-it cartridge while behind the wheel, and police found two canisters in her car at the time of the collision. Momeni, who also goes by her married name Elyassnia, was a close friend of Bob Lee and was with him on the night of his murder in April. Reports suggest that Momeni and Lee may have had a romantic relationship and were known to frequent underground sex and drug parties within San Francisco's elite circles.

Nima Momeni, Khazar's brother, was arrested for the murder of Bob Lee and is accused of stabbing him to death due to his relationship with Khazar. Prosecutors allege that Nima confronted Lee about their involvement and questioned if they had been "doing drugs or anything inappropriate" together. Surveillance footage captured the gruesome incident, showing Lee stumbling down a sidewalk, desperately seeking help before collapsing.

The alleged murder weapon, a knife covered in both Lee's blood and Nima Momeni's DNA, was traced back to Khazar Momeni's kitchen, adding another layer of complexity to the case.

While the DUI charges against Khazar Momeni have been dismissed for now, the investigation into her involvement and potential motive in the murder of Bob Lee continues. The district attorney's office has kept the possibility of filing charges at a later date open, pending further evidence. As the investigation progresses, the truth behind this shocking crime will hopefully be revealed, bringing some closure to the family and friends of Bob Lee.
