Kansas City, Missouri was left in shock and mourning after the tragic shooting that occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday. Among the victims was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a beloved local radio host who was killed in the senseless act of violence. The family of Lopez-Galvan, including her brother Beto Lopez and sister Carmen Lopez-Murguia, expressed their devastation over the loss of "the life of the party" and shared memories of her joy at the parade.

In the wake of the tragedy, the community rallied together to support the victims and their families. Pop star Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page created for the Lopez-Galvan family. Swift's generous donation was just one of many, as contributions to the fund surged past $260,000 in just a day.

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Chiefs, and his wife Brittany also showed their support by visiting the injured family members of the victims. They were pictured with two young girls, ages 8 and 10, who were shot in the leg during the parade. The girls, who are the daughters of Lopez-Galvan's cousin, had to undergo surgery and are expected to be in casts for months. The Reyes family, who issued a statement on behalf of the girls, thanked the Mahomes and the staff at Children's Mercy Hospital for their care and support.

Another victim of the shooting, 10-year-old Samuel Arellano, shared his harrowing experience with CBS News, revealing that he had trouble sleeping and suffered from nightmares and flashbacks. Arellano, who was shot near his upper ribcage, is now recovering at home but still grappling with the trauma of the event. He expressed reluctance to attend another large parade, stating, "you never know what can happen."

As the investigation into the shooting continues, two juveniles have been charged in connection with the incident. Investigators believe a dispute between several individuals led to the gunfire that left Lopez-Galvan dead and 22 others injured. The community continues to mourn the loss of life and support those affected by the tragic events that unfolded during what was supposed to be a day of celebration.
