Wife allegedly tried to kill her Air Force husband - but he claims he caught her trying to poison his coffee

In a shocking turn of events, an Arizona woman has been accused of attempting to kill her husband, who is a US Army airman, by poisoning his coffee. Melody Feliciano Johnson, 39, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and adding harmful substances to food, drink, or medicine. The couple, who have a child together, were going through a divorce while stationed in Germany.

According to court documents, the husband became suspicious of his wife and began to notice that his coffee, which she prepared for him at night, started tasting bad. He decided to take matters into his own hands and purchased pool chlorine testing strips to investigate. To his horror, he found that while the tap water was normal, the coffee had alarmingly high levels of chlorine.

Despite his concerns, the husband did not immediately report his wife's actions while they were still in Germany. Instead, he decided to gather more evidence when they moved to Arizona on June 28. Setting up cameras in their new home on Davis Mountain Air Force Base, he was able to capture his wife pouring something into the water reservoir of the coffee maker.

Not satisfied with just one piece of evidence, the husband continued to install cameras throughout the house. One video captured his wife allegedly walking from the laundry room to the coffee maker, while another showed her pouring bleach into a smaller container before taking it to the coffee maker.

Armed with multiple videos, the husband finally filed a police report with the Tucson Police Department. However, the initial report did not receive a follow-up due to the video not clearly showing what substance his wife was pouring into his drink. Undeterred, the husband returned to the police department with additional footage that allegedly showed his wife pouring bleach into the coffee machine before brewing.

Police then detained Johnson and obtained a warrant to search the home. During the search, they found a liquid in the coffee maker that smelled strongly of bleach, as well as a container with a similar scent. These findings only strengthened the case against Johnson.

Johnson's bond was set at $250,000, with a request for a high amount due to concerns that she may be a flight risk, as she has a house and family in the Philippines. She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on Friday.

This disturbing incident has left many shocked and concerned. Roby, the husband, has stated that he believes his wife tried to poison him in order to collect benefits. The investigation into this case is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served.
