Florida man arrested with detailed plans to 'kill everyone' at his former high school

A 19-year-old man from South Florida, Henry Horton IV, was arrested after police discovered handwritten threats in his car detailing his plans to carry out mass shootings and stabbing sprees at Okeechobee High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and a church in Florida. The arrest came after a routine traffic stop in Jupiter on September 27, where Horton was pulled over for a broken headlight. During the search of his vehicle, an officer found multiple handwritten pages outlining his morbid plans, including a plan to purchase firearms and "kill everyone at OHS with my guns," referring to Okeechobee High School.

According to an arrest affidavit filed earlier this month, Horton admitted to the officer that he was planning to kill an administrator at Okeechobee High School on his 22nd birthday, January 2, 2026, and then murder another 14 people, totaling to 15 victims. After executing his plan at the high school, he intended to drive to Miami, Florida, to a church named 'El Rey Jesus' and go on a stabbing spree to kill another 10 individuals. During the traffic stop, the officer also discovered a bong and three filet-style knives in Horton's vehicle.

Horton, a former Dominos employee in Okeechobee County, revealed to the officer that he was heading to the El Rey Jesus church in Miami to survey the area before carrying out his mass stabbing spree. Authorities informed Horton that he would be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and then transported him to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation.

During the evaluation, a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy interviewed Horton about his alleged plans. Horton expressed his dislike for religion and a desire to attack random people. He also mentioned wanting to get back at his stepmother, who had kicked him out of the house in April, to prove that he had "lost his mind or something."

Horton further revealed to the deputy that he had a manifesto inside his vehicle when he was pulled over, which detailed his plans for various attacks. The manifesto included plans to carry out mass shootings at Walmart, Okeechobee High School, and a church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also mentioned a desire to kill his father and stepmother in Eastlawn and drive to the United Nations Building in New York. Another plan titled "operation MM" described his intent to gather "112 other people" to carry out mass shootings in every Southern state on the same day, resulting in the deaths of "1120 people."

In addition to his plans, police found notes on Horton's iPhone stating his intention to mass murder 50 people in a single event. Horton claimed that he felt he couldn't be fired due to his autism and discrimination laws. The notes also mentioned his desire to have certain family members dead, including his father and stepmother. He expressed wanting to harm his boyfriend, stating that he wanted to cut him and slit his throat.

Based on his statements and the evidence found, authorities arrested and charged Horton with written threats to kill or do harm. He was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail and is being held on a $1 million bond. A court appearance is scheduled for November 6. Horton's mother and stepmother both defended him, emphasizing his need for mental health treatment rather than facing criminal charges. The Okeechobee County School District has not yet responded to requests for comment.
