A-hole' 17-pound dog gets new owners after Texas shelter's hilarious social post: "Could take on a Rottweiler and win'

In a heartwarming turn of events, a small black dog named Eddie, dubbed an a-hole by the Humane Society of Wichita County, Texas, has found his forever home less than eight hours after a viral social media post described his unique personality. The post included a photo of Eddie in a sweater, with adorable hazel eyes, but warned potential adopters not to be fooled by his innocent appearance.

Described as weighing 17 pounds and capable of taking on a Rottweiler and winning, Eddie's tough demeanor was further emphasized by the shelter's statement that he would back you up in a bar fight, effortlessly taking on five guys while casually putting out a cigarette on their forehead and not spilling a drop of his beer. The Humane Society even speculated that if Eddie were human, he would be sporting a wife beater t-shirt and a tattoo that reads MOM on his arm.

Despite his rough exterior, the shelter appealed to individuals who believed they were "man enough" to adopt Eddie and give him a loving home. The Humane Society expressed its urgency in finding Eddie a new family, as he was said to scare their larger dogs. Fortunately, Eddie's plea was heard, and he was quickly adopted.

The Humane Society happily reported that Eddie snuggled up to his new owner right away, indicating that the dog's mean attitude seemed to melt away as he curled up on the couch. The new owners, Linda Brooks and her daughter Taryn, drove a considerable distance from Cleburne to Wichita Falls, a 140-mile journey, to pick up their new addition. They expressed their joy at welcoming Eddie into their lives, stating that they are happy to live in his world.

The adoption of Eddie has generated immense attention, leading his new owners to create a Facebook page dedicated to him, aptly named Ahole Eddie. The page aims to promote adopting pets from shelters instead of purchasing from breeders and has already garnered over 33,000 followers.

Eddie's story serves as a heartening reminder that even dogs with unique personalities and tough exteriors deserve a place to call home, especially during the holiday season.
