Chiefs player Rashee Rice involved in multi-vehicle crash, cooperating with authorities

01:12 02.04.2024

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is currently cooperating with authorities in Dallas following a chain-reaction crash on a busy highway over the weekend. The crash, which involved a speeding Corvette and Lamborghini, resulted in a total of six vehicles being involved in the collision on North Central Expressway. Two occupants of one vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while two others were treated at the scene.

Authorities are currently seeking the occupants of the Corvette and Lamborghini, with reports indicating that one of the vehicles involved was registered to Rice. However, police have not confirmed the identities of those involved in the crash. Rice's attorney, State Sen. Royce West, stated that his client is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address the situation responsibly.

One mother, Kayla Quinn, recounted the terrifying moment when her car was side-swiped in the crash while driving with her 4-year-old son. Quinn expressed frustration that the occupants of the speeding vehicles did not stop to check on the victims, including children, and hopes that they will face child endangerment charges. She also mentioned that her car is now undrivable due to the damage sustained in the crash.

Dashcam footage obtained by WFAA showed the moment the Corvette and Lamborghini lost control and crashed into several other vehicles. Rice, who hails from the Dallas area, won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs earlier this year and was a standout rookie receiver during the championship game. The Chiefs have not yet commented on the incident, with team president Mark Donovan stating that they are waiting to gather all the facts before reacting accordingly. Law enforcement is urging anyone with information on the crash to contact the police.
