Britney Spears' Divorce from Sam Asghari Leaves Her Without Support

11:55 17.08.2023

In a shocking turn of events, pop star Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, are reportedly headed for divorce after just 14 months of marriage. According to TMZ, the couple got into a heated argument last week, sparked by rumors of infidelity on Spears' part. Asghari, who is said to have believed the rumors, ultimately filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." The split comes as a blow to Spears, who previously cited her desire to marry Asghari as one of the main reasons she wanted to end her court conservatorship.

The couple's relationship had been the subject of speculation and rumors throughout their brief marriage. In March, they were spotted without their wedding rings, fueling speculation about the state of their relationship. Then, in May, TMZ reported that the couple's marriage was in "deep trouble," with rumors of heated arguments turning physical. However, Asghari took to Instagram to deny the rumors, calling them disgusting and defending Spears against those who had taken advantage of her during her conservatorship.

Spears and Asghari's wedding, which took place in June 2022 at Spears' home in Thousand Oaks, California, was seen as a milestone in the singer's newly reclaimed life after the end of her conservatorship. The star-studded event included guests such as Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Madonna. Designer Donatella Versace created Spears' wedding gown, while Asghari wore a sleek tuxedo designed by Versace as well.

This is the first marriage for Asghari, 29, and the third for Spears, 41. She was previously married to childhood friend Jason Alexander for less than three days in 2004, and later wed dancer Kevin Federline in 2004. Federline is the father of Spears' two teenage sons and has custody of them. Spears' marriage to Federline coincided with a period of intense media scrutiny and increasing mental health struggles for the pop star. She was placed under a conservatorship in 2008, which controlled many aspects of her life for over 13 years. The conservatorship ended in November 2021, marking a turning point in Spears' life.

Since the end of her conservatorship, Spears has released new music, including a collaboration with Elton John in 2022. However, she has not performed live in years and has not announced any plans to do so. Her memoir, titled "The Woman in Me," is scheduled to be released in October.

As news of the divorce broke, sources close to Spears revealed that her support system has crumbled. Apart from her manager, Cade Hudson, and her security team, Spears reportedly lacks a strong support system. Her relationship with her family has also become strained once again. Asghari's filing for divorce has raised questions about cheating rumors that have resurfaced. Internet personality Morgan Osman previously claimed to be dating Asghari shortly after he and Spears began their relationship in 2017. Osman posted and deleted a photo of her kissing Asghari, accusing him of using Spears.

Amidst the divorce proceedings, Asghari has allegedly threatened to go public with embarrassing information about Spears if she doesn't agree to renegotiate their prenuptial agreement. The couple had reportedly signed a prenup in Spears' favor after the end of her conservatorship.

Despite the turmoil, Spears appeared unfazed by the divorce rumors, announcing on Instagram that she planned to buy a horse. The future remains uncertain for the pop superstar, with fans eagerly awaiting the release of her memoir and hoping for her return to the stage.
