Kate Middleton's Competitive Streak Shines in Beer Pong and Table Tennis

18:37 11.09.2023

In a recent episode of the podcast "The Good, The Bad, & The Rugby," Prince William and Princess Kate joined Princess Anne and Mike Tindall to discuss Middleton's competitive nature. Tindall playfully commented on Kate's competitiveness, to which she responded, "I'm not competitive at all." However, Tindall revealed that he had witnessed her competitive side during a game of beer pong. Middleton then admitted that she and Prince William have never been able to finish a game of table tennis because it becomes a mental challenge between them to see who can out-mental the other.

This competitive streak seems to have been passed down to their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as Princess Anne chimed in, saying, "Just a little bit, I would suggest." Kate further explained that each of their children has different temperaments but is actively exploring and trying out various sports as they grow older.

Princess Charlotte, at eight years old, is already involved in soccer and rugby, which were not options for Middleton when she was in school. Kate expressed her excitement about seeing young girls playing these types of sports now. In fact, Middleton traveled to France to support England in the first round of the Rugby World Cup, as she serves as the patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League. England emerged victorious over Argentina with a final score of 27-10.

Interestingly, this podcast episode comes after royal expert Tessa Dunlop suggested that Meghan Markle could become more relatable than Middleton if she were to return to social media. Dunlop believes that Middleton's social media presence only offers choreographed glimpses into her "perfect, almost 'too good to be true' family," while Meghan's experiences have made her more relatable and lacking the insulation of the royal institution.
