Convicted 'Lady Dahmer' deserves happiness, says lawyer

In a shocking and disturbing case out of Wisconsin, Taylor Schabusiness, a 25-year-old mother, has been convicted of the brutal murder of her boyfriend, Shad Thyrion. The details of the crime are horrifying - Schabusiness not only killed Thyrion, but also decapitated him and engaged in sexual desecration of his body. Despite the heinous nature of the crime, Schabusiness's attorney is advocating for the possibility of parole, stating that she "deserves to be happy."

Schabusiness was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Thyrion, along with additional years for mutilating a corpse and third-degree sexual assault. However, her attorney, Christopher T. Froelich of the Froelich Law Group, believes that she should have a chance at parole after years of therapy and counseling. Froelich plans to appeal the court's decision on Schabusiness's behalf.

This case has been marked by bizarre and unsettling behavior from Schabusiness. She has been seen smiling, smirking, and even appearing to fall asleep during court proceedings. Defense psychologists, including Dr. Diane Lytton, have argued that these behaviors are indicative of her mental incompetence to stand trial. They describe her as a "psychotic person" based on her strange grinning and overall demeanor.

One particularly disturbing moment occurred when Schabusiness burst into laughter during discussions about whether jurors would be shown photos of Thyrion's decapitated head. Her laughter continued when the jury rejected her insanity plea and ultimately convicted her. Froelich has attempted to get a mistrial, questioning whether the judge should remain on the case due to witnessing a fight in the courtroom and alleged attempts by Schabusiness to flash the judge.

Another point of contention raised by Froelich is the charge of sexual assault. He argues that since Thyrion is deceased, it should be considered mutilation of a corpse rather than sexual assault. He questions whether the jury simply went along with the charge to ensure her guilt on all counts.

In a surprising twist, Thyrion's father expressed forgiveness towards Schabusiness, stating that he believes everyone makes bad choices to some extent. He acknowledged that the crimes committed by Schabusiness were incredibly severe but emphasized that hatred does no good. This sentiment was echoed by Schabusiness's relatives, who traveled long distances multiple times to testify on her behalf. Despite their efforts, they were left dejected by the sentencing.

Arthur Coronado, Schabusiness's father, also took the stand during the trial. He himself has a troubling history, having been sentenced to 12 years in 2018 for sexually assaulting a child. Froelich highlighted the presence of Schabusiness's family members in court, arguing that it demonstrated that she had people who cared about her and had relationships with her. He believes that she should not be dismissed as a throwaway or a waste, but rather given a chance at redemption.

Throughout the trial, various photos were submitted into evidence, providing glimpses into Schabusiness's life before her meth addiction took hold. These photos, unlike the gruesome autopsy and crime scene images, show a different side of Schabusiness - a little girl, a teenager, a young woman holding her baby and her brother. Froelich believes that these photos reveal her true identity, describing her as a "happy person" who deserves to find happiness again.

Adding to the disturbing nature of the case is the revelation that Schabusiness had a pre-murder photo of herself smiling beside a photo of infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Dahmer, known for his sexually motivated killings and dismemberments, committed most of his crimes just a couple of hours away from where Schabusiness's murder took place. Froelich, who was acquainted with one of Dahmer's lawyers, ominously commented that now he has "the lady Dahmer."

As this shocking case continues to unfold, the debate over Schabusiness's future and the possibility of parole will undoubtedly spark intense discussions about justice, rehabilitation, and the true nature of the defendant.
