Actor Alan Ruck from "Succession" crashes electric truck into Hollywood pizza shop

08:52 02.11.2023

Actor Alan Ruck, known for his roles in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Succession," was involved in a multi-vehicular crash on Halloween night that resulted in his electric Rivian pickup truck crashing into a Hollywood pizza restaurant, Raffallo's Pizza. The incident occurred at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard at around 9:25 p.m. Ruck, who famously portrayed Cameron Frye in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," emerged from the crash uninjured, while a 32-year-old man was hospitalized with non-serious injuries.

Surveillance footage from the pizza restaurant captured the moments leading up to the crash. Ruck's truck rear-ended another car at a stoplight, then collided with a BMW SUV before smashing into the side of the building. Despite the significant damage caused, no individuals were inside the restroom located at the back of the building, relieving the restaurant owners of potential tragedy. Walter Rosales, the owner of Raffallo's, expressed the emotional toll the incident took on the staff and customers, who were grateful to have escaped harm.

Aerial footage from SkyCal showcased Ruck's damaged truck with a sizable hole in the side of the building. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety yellow-tagged the restaurant to assess the structural integrity of the building.

Although the cause of the crash remains under investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department detectives stated that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors. The crash site was chaotic, involving multiple vehicles, however, Ruck's electric Rivian ended up colliding with the pizzeria, as captured by video footage. Witnesses reported that Ruck appeared concerned and distressed about the well-being of others involved in the crash, showing genuine concern and prioritizing their safety over his own.

While no serious injuries were reported, a 32-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, and a 40-year-old woman were involved in the crash. The woman complained of arm pains. Miraculously, no pedestrians on the busy street were harmed during the incident. TMZ reported that there is no indication of any drivers being under the influence.

In addition to his iconic role in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," Ruck has had an extensive acting career, appearing in various films and television shows such as Spin City and the Emmy-nominated "Succession," where he portrays Connor Roy.

The investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department is ongoing. Further comments from the Los Angeles Fire Department, LAPD, and Ruck's representative are underway.
