The United States has carried out yet another round of strikes against Iran-linked sites in Syria, marking the third time in less than three weeks that the U.S. military has targeted locations in the country. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced the strikes, stating that they were in response to attacks on American personnel. The surge in attacks on U.S. troops has been linked to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The war began when Hamas initiated a cross-border attack from Gaza on October 7, resulting in Israeli military retaliation.
