Beloved Friends actor Matthew Perry passed away on October 28 at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. He was 54 years old. The news of his death shocked fans and colleagues alike, including his co-star Courteney Cox, who took to social media to pay tribute to her dear friend. Cox shared a heartfelt message alongside a clip from a classic episode of the popular NBC sitcom. In her tribute, she expressed her gratitude for every moment she had with Perry and admitted to missing him every day.

Cox also shared a behind-the-scenes story from one of her favorite moments with Perry. She revealed that just before the scene was filmed, Perry whispered a funny line for her to say, a gesture he often made to bring laughter to the set. Cox fondly remembered Perry as a kind and funny person, noting that their characters, Chandler Bing and Monica Geller, had a memorable love story on the show.

Perry, who was born in Massachusetts and raised in Canada, began portraying Chandler Bing at the age of 24. The hit series ran for a decade and also starred Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. The cast released a joint statement expressing their devastation over Perry's loss, emphasizing that they were more than just co-stars; they were a family. The statement also mentioned that they would share more in the future when they were able to process the loss.

Following Perry's death, his cause of death was initially listed as an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his home. However, the official cause of death is still pending, as toxicology results are yet to be released. Perry had been open about his struggles with addiction to alcohol and opiates, but reports suggest that no illegal drugs were found at the scene. Perry had been sober since 2021 and had dedicated his time to helping others with similar issues through a sober living facility.

Matt LeBlanc, another co-star of Perry's on "Friends," broke his silence on the actor's death with a heartfelt Instagram post. LeBlanc shared several photos of himself with Perry from their time on the show and expressed how much he cherished their friendship. He called it an honor to share the stage with Perry and vowed to always remember him. LeBlanc ended his message with a light-hearted joke about the $20 that Perry owed him.

The Friends cast, including LeBlanc, Cox, Aniston, Kudrow, and Schwimmer, came together to say their final goodbyes at Perry's funeral, which took place on November 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The funeral was attended by 20 mourners, including friends and family.

Tributes to Perry poured in from other actors who had worked with him on "Friends." Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice, Perry's on-again, off-again girlfriend on the show, expressed her deep sadness over the loss and remembered the joy Perry brought to those around him. Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Perry's mother on "Friends," described him as a brilliant young actor and a sweet, caring man. James Burrows, who directed several episodes of the show, revealed that the news of Perry's death had devastated the cast, with the actresses referring to him as a brother.

Matthew Perry's death has left a void in the hearts of his friends, family, and fans. His legacy as Chandler Bing on Friends and his dedication to helping others will always be remembered. As the world waits for the official cause of his death, the outpouring of love and tributes stand as a testament to the impact he had on those around him.
