A Brooklyn political volunteer has been charged with the murder of his mother after allegedly stabbing her multiple times during an argument over money. Vladislav Deshkovich, 30, was remanded during his arraignment on Saturday night after being accused of stabbing his mother, 52-year-old Inna Deshkovich, 10 times, including three times in the face. According to a criminal complaint, the stabbing occurred in the Bay Ridge apartment where Inna was found dead in a pool of blood.

During the brief hearing at Brooklyn Criminal Court, Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Jordan Rossman stated, "The defendant is accused of stabbing his mother to death yesterday. He went to his mother's apartment and stabbed her approximately seven times in the neck and shoulder and three times in the face." Deshkovich then fled the scene and was later arrested in front of his apartment about four hours later.

Initially, Deshkovich claimed to the police that he had only punched his mother, but when shown a photo of her, he quickly requested a lawyer. He has been charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Deshkovich had aspirations for a political career, including a possible run for state Senate. He had volunteered for City Councilman Ari Kagan, although Kagan stated that Deshkovich was not his political operative and that they had only met a few times.

The defense lawyer, Edward Daniels, requested bail for Deshkovich, citing his "lack of involvement in the criminal justice system." However, this request was denied by Judge Archana Rao, who deemed the allegations as "very serious" and ordered that Deshkovich remain in custody without bail. Deshkovich is set to appear in court again on December 7.

Neighbors reported that arguments between Deshkovich and his mother were a common occurrence, with the shouting often heard in Russian. One neighbor's girlfriend even heard Inna screaming during the incident, which abruptly ceased. Another neighbor stated that when she knocked on Inna's door during the fight, Deshkovich answered and claimed it was a dispute over money, and that he had knocked his mother unconscious.

This tragic incident sheds light on the alleged violent tendencies and turbulent relationship between Deshkovich and his mother. As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Inna Deshkovich and hopes for justice to be served.
