In a thrilling turn of events, a police officer in the UK enlisted the help of a civilian by commandeering his bike to pursue and apprehend a drug dealer. The incident, which unfolded in Northampton on August 23, was captured on camera and has since gone viral.

It all began when the police received a tip-off from a concerned member of the public that a man named Sean Prosser, 28, was involved in a drug deal. Quick to respond, Police Constable Lewis Marks immediately sprang into action, chasing after Prosser in his patrol car. However, Prosser, who was riding a bike, swiftly veered into Beckets Park, forcing Marks to abandon his vehicle and give chase on foot.

Realizing that time was of the essence, Marks spotted a civilian on a mountain bike nearby and made a bold decision - to ask for his assistance. In a remarkable act of collaboration between law enforcement and the public, the officer approached the individual and politely requested, "Can we borrow your bike? Thank you." Without hesitation, the civilian handed over his bicycle, fully understanding the urgency of the situation.

The captivating footage shows Marks skillfully maneuvering the borrowed mountain bike through the park and bustling city streets in pursuit of Prosser. After an intense chase, the determined officer managed to catch up with the suspect and swiftly tackle him to the ground. Prosser can be heard protesting his innocence, exclaiming, "Ow! My head. I haven't done anything."

Marks wasted no time in handcuffing the subdued Prosser and notifying his colleagues via radio that he had successfully apprehended the suspect after ramming him off his bike. However, he did not forget about the kind civilian who had lent him the bike. Determined to return it promptly, Marks cycled back to the park, where he met the owner and expressed his gratitude. "Mate, I caught him. I wouldn't have caught him without your help," he said, shaking the man's hand in appreciation.

As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that Prosser was in possession of a significant amount of cash and a phone containing incriminating text messages related to drug deals. Shockingly, police also found a Kinder egg candy toy, which cleverly concealed heroin and crack cocaine. Prosser was subsequently charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, escaping from lawful custody, and being involved in the supply of cocaine and heroin.

Earlier this month, Prosser pleaded guilty to the charges and was handed a prison sentence of over three years, marking a significant victory for law enforcement in their ongoing battle against drug-related crimes. Inspector Beth Warren of Northamptonshire Police commended PC Marks for his quick thinking and bravery, emphasizing how crucial the collaboration between the officer and the anonymous civilian had been in apprehending Prosser swiftly. She reiterated the police force's commitment to tackling drug harm and expressed hope that this case would serve as a testament to their dedication and the importance of community support in creating a safer environment for residents.
