In a shocking and tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody after allegedly killing his parents and attempting to kill his 11-year-old sister at their home in Miramonte, a rural community in Fresno County, California. The horrifying event unfolded on Wednesday night when deputies were dispatched to the residence following a 911 call reporting a break-in and attack.

During a news conference on Friday, Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni revealed that upon arrival, deputies discovered the lifeless bodies of the parents, identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, both 37 years old. The sister was found severely injured but was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery. Thankfully, she is expected to survive. The couple's 7-year-old sibling, who was unharmed, is now under the care of relatives.

Initially, the teenage boy claimed that an intruder had broken into their home, attacked his family members, and fled the scene in a pickup truck. However, detectives soon noticed inconsistencies in his story, leading them to believe that he had fabricated the break-in. "Evidence ultimately showed that he had fabricated the story of a break-in and was responsible for using multiple weapons to attack his mom, his dad, and his sister," Sheriff Zanoni stated.

While the specific cause and manner of death have yet to be determined, authorities are still cataloguing the weapons used in the attacks. Sheriff Zanoni mentioned that some of the weapons were not uncommon in rural areas. Miramonte, the community where the incident occurred, is nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, approximately 40 miles west of Mount Whitney.

The motive behind this horrifying act remains unknown at this time, and deputies had not previously visited the family's household. The suspect, due to his status as a minor, is not being identified. He sustained a few scratches during the incident, but there is no indication that they were self-inflicted. The teen is currently being held in a juvenile facility and is facing allegations of murder and attempted murder.

The Fresno County public defender's office has not yet responded to requests for comment, and it is unclear whether formal charges have been filed against the suspect or if he has secured legal representation. The case is currently under review by the Fresno County District Attorney's Office.

Sheriff Zanoni expressed his deep sadness over the tragic events, stating, "It is extremely tragic. The tragedy of the situation is of such a high magnitude because two children have lost their mother and father due to the actions by their other sibling. Those children will grow up without a mother and a father because of this incident."
