Manhunt underway for 2 escaped Arkansas inmates, including murder suspect

11:45 24.01.2024

Authorities in Arkansas have issued a warning to the public as a manhunt is underway for two dangerous suspects who escaped from the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Centre. The inmates, Noah Roush, 22, and Jatonia Bryant, 23, were discovered missing on Monday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Roush, who was being held on suspicion of residential burglary and theft of property, was also a suspect in a homicide. Bryant, on the other hand, was being held on suspicion of capital murder, the most severe category of murder in the state. The sheriff's office has urged members of the public not to approach the inmates and to leave the matter to law enforcement.

The escape of Roush and Bryant went unnoticed for 48 hours before authorities realized they were missing. It is still unclear how the two men managed to escape from the detention centre. The sheriff's office is now working in collaboration with local and state police, as well as the Arkansas Department of Correction, to locate and apprehend the suspects.

Pine Bluff, where the detention centre is located, is approximately 40 miles southeast of Little Rock. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has described Roush as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. He has a scar on the right side of his head. Bryant, on the other hand, is described as a Black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds.

The authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the escaped inmates to contact the sheriff's office immediately. The public is advised not to take matters into their own hands and to leave the apprehension of the suspects to law enforcement personnel. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is working diligently with various agencies, including the Pine Bluff Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Department of Correction, to track down the fugitives.
