11:46 29.01.2024

In a thrilling turn of events, the Kansas City Chiefs have secured their spot in Super Bowl LVIII, set to take place in Las Vegas on February 11th. As the team prepares for their highly anticipated showdown against the San Francisco 49ers, airlines have jumped on the bandwagon, offering special flights with nods to key players and pop superstar Taylor Swift.

American Airlines, in particular, has added a series of flights that pay tribute to both the Chiefs' star players and Taylor Swift. For fans looking to travel from Kansas City to Las Vegas, the airline has listed flights on February 9th and 10th with the flight number 1989. This number holds significance as it represents Swift's birth year and the name of one of her most successful albums. American Airlines has also included a flight from Las Vegas to Kansas City on February 12th, just after midnight, with the flight number matching Travis Kelce's #87 jersey.

"The excitement surrounding this year's sporting events has never been greater," expressed an American Airlines spokesperson. "You could say that after last night's games, we are in our football era, and we are thrilled to provide direct flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas. To our customers who are huge sports fans, look what you made us do."

Not to be outdone, United Airlines has also joined in on the Super Bowl theme by adding flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas with flight numbers 1587, 2287, and 1989 - with 22 being a nod to one of Swift's most well-known songs. United Airlines has also added flights for 49ers fans, with flight numbers 1995 and 1849, referencing the year of the team's last championship and the year in the 49ers name, respectively. In total, United Airlines has included 15 additional direct flights to Las Vegas, catering to fans from Kansas City, San Francisco, and San Jose.

The Chiefs' journey to the Super Bowl has been nothing short of remarkable. In their AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, they emerged victorious with a score of 17-10. Travis Kelce, the team's star tight end, played a pivotal role in their success, scoring the first touchdown of the game and surpassing Jerry Rice's postseason reception record. Kelce's outstanding performance was witnessed by none other than his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who has been a constant presence at the Chiefs' postseason games this year.

Following the game, Swift joined Kelce on the field at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, where they shared a tender moment and sealed the Chiefs' victory with a kiss. The Grammy-winning pop star has been an ardent supporter of Kelce throughout the season, attending games and cheering on the team alongside Kelce's family and friends.

As the Chiefs celebrate their Super Bowl berth, fans eagerly await the matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Super Bowl LVIII will be broadcast live from Allegiant Stadium and will also be streamed on CBS and Nickelodeon via Paramount+. The stage is set for an epic showdown, and with the added excitement from the airline tributes and Taylor Swift's presence, this Super Bowl promises to be one for the books.
