Nestle USA is recalling more than 440,000 Starbucks-branded mugs after reports of burns and cuts from overheating or breaking. The metallic coated ceramic mugs were included in four gift sets sold during the 2023 holiday season at Target, Walmart, and Nexcom. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 12 incidents, resulting in 10 injuries, including severe burns and blisters on fingers or hands, and one cut. Nestle USA stated that the company's top priority is the safety and integrity of their products and apologized for any inconvenience. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled mugs and can return them for a full refund either at the place of purchase or by contacting Nestle USA. The recall does not involve any other Nestle USA or Starbucks-branded products.
