Princess Beatrice's Ex Dies of Suspected Overdose in Miami Hotel

03:53 25.04.2024

The tragic death of Princess Beatrice's ex-boyfriend, Paolo Liuzzo, has shocked many as it was reported that he was found dead in a Florida hotel room from a suspected drug overdose. Miami police were called to Liuzzo's room at the citizenM Miami Worldcenter hotel on February 7, where he was pronounced dead just 12 minutes later. The 41-year-old's death is currently being investigated as an overdose-related incident.

Liuzzo, an Italian-native, had a well-documented relationship with Princess Beatrice back in 2005 when she was just 17 years old and he was 24. Despite the significant age gap, the couple's romance was supported by Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who even invited him to join the family on a skiing vacation in Verbier, Switzerland. However, their relationship came to an end after it was revealed that Liuzzo had violated the conditions of his probation for an assault conviction, which stemmed from a 2002 charge of manslaughter against a fellow student.

Before his untimely death, Liuzzo was working as an art industry consultant and was believed to have inherited his fortune from his father. His body was transported back to his native Long Island, NY, where a funeral was held on February 16. Liuzzo's death comes just weeks after Pippa Middleton's ex-boyfriend, Thomas Kingston, passed away at the age of 45.

Princess Beatrice, now 35, has not yet commented on Liuzzo's death. She is currently married to entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with whom she shares a 2-year-old daughter named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. The royal family member, who is married to Lady Gabriella Windsor, died from a gunshot wound to the head on February 25. The investigation into Liuzzo's death is ongoing, and the police are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his tragic passing.
