Julian Paul Assange (born 3 July 1971) is an Australian editor, publisher, and activist. In 2006, he founded the non-profit media organisation WikiLeaks, which published leaked documents that had an impact on political news. Wikileaks came to wide international attention in 2010 when, in partnership with five newspapers, it published a series of documents and other media provided by U.S. Army intelligence analyst.
