11:08 14.08.2023

In a dramatic turn of events, four divers who were reported missing on Sunday off the coast of North Carolina have been found and rescued by the Coast Guard and Navy. The Coast Guard's mid-Atlantic division announced the successful rescue on social media, revealing that the divers were located about 46 miles southeast of Cape Fear River.

The search for the four missing men began on Sunday when the Coast Guard received a distress call. It was reported that they were diving from a pleasure craft called Big Bill's, approximately 63 miles east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Concerns grew as the divers failed to resurface, sparking a massive search and rescue operation involving numerous aircraft and surface vessels, including an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and HC-130 Hercules aircraft.

Despite the intensive search efforts, the divers remained missing throughout Sunday night. However, hope was restored when the Coast Guard and Navy successfully located and rescued the four men on Monday morning, approximately 50 miles off the coast of Cape Fear, North Carolina.

In an early morning tweet, the U.S. Coast Guard expressed their relief and shared images of the emotional reunion between the divers and their loved ones. The tweet read, "The @USCG & @USNavy found and rescued the 4 missing male divers approx. 46 miles southeast of Cape Fear River, North Carolina."

The successful outcome of this rescue operation highlights the dedication and expertise of the Coast Guard and Navy in their mission to protect and save lives at sea. Their swift response and tireless efforts have ensured the safe return of these four divers, bringing an end to a potentially tragic situation.
