King Charles has 'no time in the diary' to see Prince Harry during UK trip

18:50 03.09.2023

Royal biographer Andrew Morton has claimed that Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 42, will not be returning to the UK because Markle does not want to curtsy to Kate Middleton, 41, when Prince William, 41, becomes king. Morton, who worked with Princess Diana on the book "Diana: Her True Story," made the comments on Sky News' "Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips." He stated that the couple has their own lives and influence in California, as well as their own companies. According to royal protocol, Markle would only be required to curtsy to Middleton once she becomes queen. Morton's remarks came after Harry announced that he would be traveling to the UK alone to attend the WellChild awards in London and the Invictus Games in Germany. However, an insider revealed that Harry will not be granted an audience with his father, King Charles III, as he has "no time in the diary" to see his youngest son. There are also rumors that William and Kate are nervous about a potential outburst from Harry during his visit. It is unclear if Harry has been invited to participate in any official remembrance ceremonies for Queen Elizabeth II's death, which occurred on September 8th. In a recent Netflix series about the Invictus Games, Harry criticized the royal family for their lack of support after his mother's death in 1997. He also claimed in his memoir Spare that his father never hugged him following Diana's death. Despite the tensions, Harry and Markle were seen attending Beyonce's Renaissance tour stop in California, although Harry was criticized on social media for looking bored. King Charles has reportedly no time to see Prince Harry during his trip to the UK, and it is unlikely that Harry will see his brother William either. The couple has been estranged from the royal family since stepping down as working royals in 2020 and airing their grievances against the royal institution. They were excluded from the royal family's summer gathering at Balmoral this year and it is unknown if the palace will provide accommodations for Harry during his visit. Harry's criticism of the royal family's lack of support after Diana's death was met with mixed reactions. Some sources claim that Charles is proud of Harry's work with the Invictus Games and that the Netflix series did not intend to attack his father. Harry will be attending the WellChild awards and the Invictus Games in Germany, while Meghan is expected to join him in Germany after fulfilling prior commitments with their children. William and Kate are reportedly nervous that Harry will say something at the WellChild awards that will overshadow the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death. The brothers have not spoken since the release of Harry's memoir in January.
