Israeli forces entered Gaza for localized raids, IDF tells Fox News

05:11 14.10.2023

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported that they are using a drone to strike Hezbollah 'terrorist targets' in Lebanon. This comes after Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli military posts with small-arms fire along the border with Lebanon. In response to the attack, the Israelis conducted artillery strikes. The IDF tweeted that their drone is currently striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

The tension between Israel and Hezbollah is escalating, with Hezbollah Deputy Chief Naim Kassem stating at a rally near Beirut that the group is ready to join the Israel-Hamas conflict. Kassem dismissed calls from various powers and Arab countries, as well as the United Nations, urging them not to interfere. He emphasized that Hezbollah knows its duties well and is fully prepared to take action when the time comes.

The question on everyone's mind is what Hezbollah's contribution will be to the ongoing conflict. Kassem affirmed that they will contribute according to their plan and carry out actions when necessary. This raises concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.

Meanwhile, the situation between Israel and Hamas remains tense. Hamas launched a surprise terror attack on Israel, resulting in over 1,300 Israeli deaths and numerous injuries. Israeli authorities believe that around 150 people have been taken captive by the terrorists and are being held in Gaza. In response, Israel has called up 360,000 military reservists to counter the Hamas-led terror campaign.

Israel has warned the 1.1 million people residing in the northern part of Gaza to evacuate within 24 hours as a humanitarian measure to minimize civilian casualties ahead of a potential full-scale invasion to reclaim the hostages and eliminate Hamas terrorists. The IDF has gathered forces on the border with Gaza, preparing for a possible invasion.

Despite the presence of Israeli infantry forces and tanks in the Gaza Strip for localized raids, the IDF clarified that this is not the anticipated ground invasion. IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus shared a message sent to Gaza citizens, urging them to evacuate to the south of the Wadi Gaza area for their safety. He emphasized that civilians should not approach the area near the security fence with Israel.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides on high alert. The international community is closely monitoring the developments, concerned about the potential for further escalation and casualties. It is crucial for all parties involved to seek peaceful resolutions and avoid actions that may exacerbate the already volatile situation.
