Will Smith has made a statement about his estranged wife Jada Pinkett Smith's recent revelations about their marriage. The actor, 55, sent an email to the New York Times expressing that Pinkett Smith's comments "kind of woke [him] up," and he now sees her as more "resilient, clever and compassionate than [he'd] understood." This comes after Pinkett Smith, 52, opened up about their separation of seven years during her book tour for "Worthy." The couple, who married in 1997 and share three children, have been living separately since 2016. Pinkett Smith spoke about their struggles and the decision to keep their separation private, stating that they were "trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership." She also denied cheating on Smith and clarified that the "Red Table Talk" was born out of a need to address their relationship. Pinkett Smith's mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, added that they tried to live up to the public's expectations of them as a couple. Pinkett Smith's memoir, "Worthy," will be released on Tuesday.
