In a shocking revelation, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas was caught on recorded audio launching into a profanity-laced tirade against one of her staff members. The audio, obtained by Texas newspaper Current Revolt and published on Saturday, captures Jackson Lee berating the staff member and using offensive language to describe him and another staff member. Known for her reputation as one of the “meanest” members of Congress, Jackson Lee has represented the same Houston district for over 28 years and received an endorsement from Hillary Clinton during her time in office.

The incident occurred during a conversation between Jackson Lee and a male staff member. The congresswoman questioned him about a piece of paper that had been given to him regarding an event owned by Ovide Duncantell, the founder of the Black Heritage Society, Inc. When the staff member mentioned giving the paper to another staffer named Jerome, Jackson Lee became furious and insulted both individuals. She accused them of lacking intelligence and referred to them as "f- -k-ups."

According to Jackson Lee, she expects her staff to handle calendar events, especially those related to the event by Duncantell, with utmost diligence. She expressed her frustration that instead of taking responsibility for the information, the staff member had passed it on to someone else. She criticized Jerome, claiming that he did not possess the necessary knowledge or competence to fulfill his duties. Jackson Lee's profanity-laden rant continued as she expressed her disappointment in the staff members' performance, stating that their actions reflected poorly on her. She emphasized the importance of having a staff that is knowledgeable and proactive in their work.

This incident is not the first time that Jackson Lee has displayed a disrespectful attitude towards her staff. In 2011, a report by the Daily Caller highlighted several former staff members' accounts of her using demeaning language and name-calling. Additionally, she was accused of forcing her staff to work long hours, even into the early hours of the morning. It was also alleged that she demanded her staff to drive her everywhere she went, regardless of the distance.

In 2019, Jackson Lee faced further controversy when she was forced to resign as the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF). This decision came after a former employee filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that she had been fired in retaliation for planning legal action related to an alleged 2015 rape by a supervisor. The lawsuit was dismissed in 2020.

Despite the audio recording, Jackson Lee did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News. This incident has once again brought to light the congresswoman's treatment of her staff members, raising questions about her leadership style and ability to effectively represent her constituents.
