Florida man receives prison sentence for murder-for-hire plot and fraudulent activities

Florida Man Sentenced to Over 17 Years in Prison for Murder-for-Hire Plot and Fraud Schemes

A 24-year-old man from North Redington Beach, Florida, Alexander Leszczynski, has been sentenced to 17 years and six months in federal prison for his involvement in a murder-for-hire plot and multiple fraud schemes, according to the Department of Justice. Leszczynski had previously pleaded guilty to the charges.

Leszczynski's crimes involved three separate fraud schemes, in which he attempted to steal over $10 million. He used several fictitious religious organizations, including Love & Bliss and King Neptune, to carry out his fraudulent activities. One of his schemes involved applying for Payroll Protection Plan (PPP) loans totaling approximately $1.3 million. He also engaged in a check kiting scheme and attempted to deposit over $3 million in worthless checks into one of his fictitious business accounts.

When the government seized $337,000 from one of Leszczynski's accounts, he tried to have the funds released by producing a fabricated pardon purportedly signed by former President Donald Trump. However, his efforts were unsuccessful.

In addition to his fraud schemes, Leszczynski was also involved in a murder-for-hire plot. In October 2020, he filed a fraudulent warranty deed for a property transfer, which led the property owners to sue him to correct the deed. In response, Leszczynski sent harassing letters, emails, and faxes to the property owners. While in jail, he attempted to hire a hitman to kill the property owners who had sued him.

Leszczynski told a confidential informant that he had $45,000 stashed away at his home that he could use to pay the hitman. The informant connected him with an undercover agent who posed as a hitman. In September 2022, Leszczynski provided the fake hitman with personal details of the two property owners and agreed to pay $30,000 for their murder.

Leszczynski pleaded guilty to the fraud and murder-for-hire charges in November 2022 but later withdrew his guilty plea for the murder-for-hire case. However, in June 2023, he once again pleaded guilty to the murder-for-hire charge.

Since entering his guilty plea, Leszczynski has written letters attempting to solicit and threaten others to come forward and fraudulently take responsibility for his crimes. These letters were intercepted by the U.S. authorities.

In addition to his prison sentence, Leszczynski has been ordered to forfeit $337,000 in proceeds and property and pay $621,000 in restitution to the victims. The sentencing was carried out by U.S. District Judge James Moody.

This case highlights the extent of Leszczynski's fraudulent activities and the dangerous lengths he went to in attempting to cover up his crimes. The combined sentences for the murder-for-hire plot and fraud schemes reflect the severity of his offenses and serve as a deterrent for others involved in similar criminal activities.
