In a tragic car accident that occurred last Wednesday, former TCU football player turned construction CEO Zach Muckleroy and his two children, 12-year-old Judson and 9-year-old Lindsay, lost their lives. The incident took place on Highway 281, approximately 50 miles west of Austin, while the family was traveling to visit relatives for Thanksgiving. The crash involved three vehicles, resulting in the deaths of Muckleroy and his children, as well as another unidentified victim. Muckleroy's wife, Lauren, survived the accident but was airlifted to an Austin hospital in critical condition.

Zach Muckleroy was the CEO of Muckleroy and Falls Construction Company, a family business that he took over three years ago. Described as having a charismatic personality and the ability to light up any room he entered, Muckleroy was highly regarded in the Fort Worth community. The company expressed their devastation over the loss, stating on social media, "Zach had a charisma about him and the uncanny ability to light up any room he walked into. He had a charitable heart that made lasting impacts on the Fort Worth Community. He treasured his family and was a proud alumni of TCU."

During a vigil held on Friday night at the University Christian Church in Fort Worth, senior minister Russ Peterman shared an update on Lauren Muckleroy's condition. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, Lauren has awakened and is aware of the tragic loss of her family. Peterman acknowledged the immense difficulty she must be facing, stating, "You can only imagine how hard that must be."

The vigil, attended by hundreds of mourners, served as a tribute to Zach, Judson, and Lindsay Muckleroy. Former TCU football coach Gary Patterson expressed his condolences for the loss of his former player and his children, emphasizing the impact they had on the Horned Frogs community. He shared his grief on social media, writing, "With a heavy heart I just wanted to follow up with any of you that hadn't heard that last night we lost a great Horn Frog, husband, dad, and friend Zach Muckleroy and their two children Lindsay and Judson in a head-on collision."

Speaking at the vigil, former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, a close friend of the Muckleroy family, reminisced about their shared experiences growing up together. She described the Muckleroys as pillars of the community, highlighting their strong Christian values and their contributions to both business and family life.

Zach Muckleroy's ties to TCU were also remembered during the vigil. He played football for the Horned Frogs team in 1998 and graduated from the university with a degree in Accounting and Finance with a Real Estate Concentration in 2002. The loss of the Muckleroy family has deeply saddened the TCU community.

As the investigation into the crash continues, the Fort Worth community mourns the loss of a beloved CEO, loving father, and his two young children. The tragic accident serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.
