Former NBA Developmental League Player to Face Judge in Las Vegas for Murder Charges

Las Vegas - Chance Comanche, a former NBA developmental league player, is set to appear before a Las Vegas judge on Tuesday after being transferred from a jail in Sacramento, California. Comanche, 27, who previously played for the Stockton Kings, was arrested on December 15th in Sacramento and arrived at the Clark County Detention Center on Sunday. He is scheduled for an initial appearance, according to jail and court records. Comanche's defense attorney, Gary Guymon, declined to comment before the court hearing.

Comanche's ex-girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, 19, is also currently being held in Las Vegas. She is awaiting a separate preliminary hearing on Wednesday regarding charges connected to the disappearance and death of Marayna Rodgers, a 23-year-old medical assistant from Lynnwood, Washington. Las Vegas police reported that Rodgers was strangled to death on December 6th. Last month, court documents revealed that Comanche admitted to strangling her as part of a murder plot in which he posed as a customer of a prostitute. Rodgers' remains were later discovered in a roadside ditch in suburban Henderson.

During a previous court appearance in Sacramento, Michael Goldstein, one of Comanche's defense attorneys, stated that they had nothing to say at the time and would address the situation in Nevada. Comanche, who stands at 6-foot-10, played as a power forward and center. However, following his arrest, he was released by the Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. The team had played against the G League Henderson Ignite on December 5th.

The upcoming court appearances of both Comanche and Harnden have attracted significant attention, as the details surrounding Rodgers' murder continue to shock the community. As the legal proceedings unfold, the public eagerly awaits further information regarding the motive behind the crime and any additional individuals involved.
