Serial Sex Predator Arrested Again After Release from Jail

Glendale, California - Calese Carron Crowder, a 37-year-old Los Angeles man with a history of predatory sex acts and other crimes, has been arrested once again just a day after being released from jail. Crowder had pleaded no contest to prowling and peeping charges for staring into a home with children inside. The latest arrest alleges that he failed to register as a sex offender despite a long history of lewd crimes.

Crowder first gained attention when he was identified as the man in viral TikTok videos, creeping around a Barnes & Noble store in Burbank. The videos showed him crouching down behind women and appearing to sniff them from behind. This disturbing behavior led to his arrest on peeping charges after he was caught staring into a Glendale home with children on August 6.

On Monday, Crowder was sentenced to 60 days in jail, issued multiple no-contact orders, and instructed to enter a rehab program for sex criminals. However, he was unexpectedly released on Tuesday, causing concerns among the community. It was revealed that his name did not appear on the California sex offender registry, despite being required to register as a sex offender as part of a previous conviction.

The Glendale Police Department confirmed that Crowder had not registered as a sex offender and was in violation. As a result, he was arrested again on Thursday and is scheduled to be arraigned for the second time this week. He is currently being held on $20,000 bail.

Crowder's arrest has triggered outrage and fear in the community. One victim, Michaela Witter, posted a TikTok video warning her neighbors to be careful. She expressed her concern that Crowder may harm someone before authorities take more decisive action. Witter's video captured her encounter with Crowder, as well as at least 20 other women who reached out to her with similar stories.

Crowder's history of criminal activity dates back to 2005, with this arrest marking his 43rd time in custody in Los Angeles County alone. He has served time in state prison for burglary and robbery charges and had recently been sentenced to a year in jail for indecent exposure. However, he was released early from that sentence.

Critics have pointed to California's controversial Proposition 47 law, co-written by District Attorney George Gascon, as a contributing factor in Crowder's repeated release. The law has reduced the number of inmates in custody and lowered penalties for certain crimes, including many nonviolent felonies being reduced to misdemeanors.

The Glendale Police Department is urging anyone with information on Crowder's activities to contact them immediately. The community remains on high alert as they await further developments in this disturbing case.
