Tragic Boat Crash Claims Life of Texas Teenager Kaden Forke

A devastating boat crash on Lake Austin has left the community mourning the loss of 14-year-old Kaden Forke. The young teenager was found dead on Monday night after the boat he was on lost control and crashed into a bank of trees the previous evening. The incident occurred when Forke and six other individuals were enjoying a leisurely outing on the lake. However, tragedy struck when their boat went over another boat's wake, causing it to veer out of control.

Assistant Chief Ken Campbell of the CE-Bar Fire Department described the chaotic scene, highlighting the dangers of the narrow and crowded Lake Austin. He explained, "If you're just plowing down the lake as fast as you can go, you're going to have an accident - even if you're going slow you can have an accident because there's a lot of traffic and a lot of things to avoid." The boat crashed into a bank of trees along the lake, leaving two individuals with serious injuries and two with potentially serious injuries. Shockingly, two people onboard refused medical care.

The immediate rescue mission soon turned into a somber recovery operation as divers searched for the missing teenager. Forke's body was tragically found at Austin's Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park. The news of his untimely death sent shockwaves through the community, as he was set to begin his high school journey that very week.

Kaden Forke was a beloved figure among his peers and teachers. He had recently graduated from Lake Travis Elementary and was known for his athletic abilities and his involvement in the Audio Visual Production/Broadcast program. Lake Travis ISD, his school district, released a statement expressing their condolences and mourning the "tragic loss for our school community."

The fundraiser has already garnered nearly $30,000 in donations, a testament to the impact Kaden had on those around him.

Just hours earlier, there was another tragic incident involving a jet ski and boat, resulting in another fatality. Capt. Darren Noak of Austin-Travis County EMS described the weekend as a "very deadly" one for the area's lakes.
