Former Missing Texas Teen Arrested for Online Murder

03:55 20.11.2023

A shocking and tragic case has unfolded in Texas, as a 17-year-old girl has been indicted on a capital murder charge for the death of a man she allegedly met online. Natalie Navarro, the teenage suspect, was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury this week on allegations that she intentionally caused the death of 21-year-old Arturo Pena on August 27. The indictment states that Navarro shot Pena while allegedly attempting to rob his belongings.

According to the Garland Police Department, investigators believe that Navarro and Pena initially connected online. It is alleged that Navarro planned to rob Pena with the help of her 21-year-old male accomplice, Yordy Martinez. Navarro claimed to the police that she had only spoken to Martinez once online and had never met him in person on the night of the murder. However, authorities have reason to doubt the veracity of her statement.

In a startling revelation, it has been revealed that the 17-year-old suspect had met with Pena in person two weeks prior to the fateful shooting. Police believe that this meeting was part of an elaborate setup to target the victim. The motive behind their alleged plan remains unclear.

The horrifying incident came to the attention of law enforcement on August 29, when Garland Police Department officers responded to a report about a person passed out in a vehicle at 342 West Oates Road. Tragically, they discovered that Pena had been shot dead. The heinous crime has deeply affected his family and loved ones, who are now seeking justice for his untimely demise.

Garland detectives identified Navarro and Martinez as persons of interest in Pena's murder on September 1. At that time, an Amber Alert was issued for Navarro, who was later located near the Mexican border. She was then taken into custody. However, authorities are still actively searching for Martinez, who remains at large.

The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of Yordy Martinez to contact the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840. As the investigation continues, the community anxiously waits for justice to be served in this heartbreaking case.
