Cash App Founder's Alleged Killer's Sister Arrested for Drunken Hit-and-Run

02:48 30.11.2023

In a shocking turn of events, new photos have emerged revealing the accused killer of Cash App founder Bob Lee, Nima Momeni, smiling and posing behind bars at San Bruno jail as he awaits trial. The photos, obtained by The Post, show Momeni nonchalantly posing behind the reinforced glass door of his cell, seemingly ready for his photo-op. Clad in a bright orange jumpsuit, the alleged murderer can be seen smirking and smiling at the camera, striking a crossed-armed pose. Momeni even appears to have taken the time to smooth down his closely cropped hair before the photos were taken in August.

As the camera captures the scene inside Momeni's cell, several items catch the eye. A psychology book and a 2015 biography of Napoleon Bonaparte are visible among his belongings, suggesting that Momeni has been delving into these works during his time in solitary confinement. Photos and a piece of paper are taped to the wall, alongside stacks of books, giving a glimpse into the accused killer's environment.

The murder of Bob Lee occurred in early April under the Bay Bridge in San Francisco after an argument between Momeni and Lee regarding Momeni's sister, Khazar Elyassnia. Lee, 43, was found unresponsive and bleeding profusely and later died in the hospital. Momeni was arrested 11 days after the incident and has since been denied bail. Prosecutors have deemed him dangerous to the public, and even Momeni's own family members have labeled him a "lunatic and psychotic."

While Momeni awaits his trial, his only visitor apart from his lawyers has been his mother, according to the San Francisco Standard. The accused killer has been held in solitary confinement for the past seven months, further isolating him from the outside world.

The relationship between Momeni's sister, Khazar Elyassnia, and Bob Lee has become a focal point in the investigation. Elyassnia was recently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in San Francisco, just two miles away from where Lee was allegedly killed. The crash occurred near Union Square in the city's downtown area, and Elyassnia faces charges of hit and run, failing to drive within a lane, and failing to provide proof of financial responsibility.

Authorities view Elyassnia's relationship with Lee as a possible motive for Momeni's alleged murder. Both Elyassnia and Lee were reportedly part of an underground party scene known as "The Lifestyle." Friends of Lee revealed to the Wall Street Journal that he had been casually involved with Elyassnia, who is the wife of a prominent San Francisco plastic surgeon. The presence of drugs in Lee's system, including cocaine and ketamine, further complicated the case.

Despite Momeni's lawyers claiming that the trial is not a matter of "whodunnit," but rather a question of "what happened," prosecutors assert that the killing was premeditated. One of the last texts sent by Elyassnia to Lee before his death raised suspicion, stating, "Just want to make sure you are ok Cause 'I know nima came wayyyyy down hard on you.'"

As the trial date for Nima Momeni approaches, the public watches intently to uncover the truth behind the murder of Bob Lee, while Elyassnia's arrest adds another layer of intrigue to the already complex case. Both Momeni and Elyassnia are due back in court soon, and the trial date has yet to be set.
