Bradley Cooper's Co-Star Daughter Lea Makes Red Carpet Debut at 'Maestro' Premiere

17:09 13.12.2023

Bradley Cooper and his 6-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine, made a heartwarming and rare appearance at the world premiere of his new film, "Maestro." Cooper, who plays the role of legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein in the film, looked affectionately at his daughter as she smiled for photos on the red carpet. Lea, dressed in a Dolce & Gabbana leopard print dress, made a brief appearance in the film as Bernstein's daughter, Jamie.

Earlier this year, Cooper opened up about his journey as a parent and his hopes for his daughter's future. He acknowledged that he would make mistakes along the way but emphasized his commitment to personal growth and supporting Lea. Cooper and ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, with whom he shares custody of Lea, have managed to maintain a friendly relationship.

Shayk took to her Instagram stories to congratulate both Lea and Cooper on their film, expressing her pride as a mother and thanking Cooper for being a great father. Cooper was also supported at the premiere by his "A Star is Born" co-star Lady Gaga, with whom he had been rumored to have a romantic relationship, although both have denied the allegations. Cooper is currently rumored to be dating model Gigi Hadid.

Despite the joyous atmosphere at the premiere, Cooper has faced intense backlash for his portrayal of Bernstein, particularly for wearing a prosthetic nose. The decision has been criticized as potentially prejudiced against the Jewish community. However, the real Jamie Bernstein, Leonard Bernstein's daughter, defended Cooper during a joint appearance with her siblings, jokingly pointing out that Cooper himself has a substantial nose.

Cooper's co-star in the film, Carey Mulligan, also made her red carpet debut at the premiere. The event took place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Although Shayk couldn't attend the screening, she showed her support for Cooper and Lea through social media.

Maestro tells the story of Leonard Bernstein and has been under scrutiny since the release of its first trailer. Cooper, who is not Jewish, received support from Bernstein's family, who praised his commitment to the role and his love for their father's music. The family stated that they were fine with Cooper using makeup to amplify his resemblance to Bernstein, as the late composer himself would have been fine with it as well.

Cooper defended the decision to use a prosthetic nose, explaining that it was necessary for the overall balance of his portrayal of Bernstein. He emphasized that his approach to the role came from a place of love and respect for the composer.

Maestro is set to premiere on Netflix on December 20, following a brief theatrical run. Despite the controversy surrounding Cooper's portrayal, the film has generated anticipation among audiences eager to see his performance as Leonard Bernstein.
