The man, who remains unidentified, was apprehended on Friday, as captured in a video obtained by FOX 5 DC. The incident, which took place at the fast food restaurant on Branch Avenue in Marlow Heights, left several police vehicles damaged, with one even being rendered completely totaled.

According to Lt. Moses Edwards of the Marlow Heights Special Police, the suspect was operating a stolen 2011 Hyundai Tiburon. In the video footage, the suspect can be seen exhibiting a reckless disregard for the safety of others, as he refuses to comply with the officers' orders to relinquish control of the vehicle. "He kept his foot on the accelerator," Lieutenant Edwards revealed. "We were telling him: take your foot off the accelerator, put the car in park, turn the car off. He wouldn't. You could hear him revving up the motor, revving up the engine, and during that time, [an officer] was still pinned in his vehicle."

Despite the chaos that ensued, it was fortunate that there were no severe injuries reported. However, one officer did sustain injuries and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, the officer was later released, indicating that the injuries were not life-threatening.
