Texas Toddler's Viral Interaction with Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus Nativity

18:53 31.12.2023

In a heartwarming video that has captured the attention of millions, two-year-old Emilia Wadgymar from Woodlands, Texas, demonstrates her deep love and adoration for the nativity figures of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The adorable footage was shared by Emilia's mother, Tamara Wadgymar, on Instagram, where it has garnered over 5.3 million views and counting.

According to Tamara, the enchanting encounter took place at a Christmas village train set up in their local area. While many children are excited about seeing Santa Claus or "The Elf on the Shelf," Emilia's attention was solely focused on the nativity scene. As soon as she spotted Mary, she enthusiastically yelled out her name, completely oblivious to the nearby Santa train. Tamara quickly grabbed her phone and started recording the heartwarming interaction.

In the video, the bilingual toddler greets Mary and Baby Jesus, saying, "Hello Virgin Mary. Hello, baby." She proceeds to kiss the cardboard cutout of Baby Jesus and expresses her intention to give Mary a hug. Emilia then poses for photos with the cutout, adorably saying, "Cheese! Now with the baby." Her love and attention to detail are evident as she fixes the baby's fallen diaper, proudly exclaiming, "It fell, but I got it."

Emilia's affection for Mary and Jesus didn't develop solely at the Christmas village. At home, the family has a small nativity scene for Emilia to play with and observe. However, Tamara attributes the core of Emilia's enthusiasm and adoration to the daily prayers and discussions about Mary and Jesus within the family.

The Wadgymar family has faced significant challenges recently as Emilia's four-year-old brother, Bernardo, battles Langerhans cell histiocytosis, a rare cancer-like condition. Bernardo is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Texas Children's Hospital, his fourth treatment so far. Additionally, he has developed diabetes insipidus. Despite these hardships, Tamara emphasizes the family's outlook on life, which is centered around gratitude.

Tamara explains that they have experienced financial struggles in the past, living in Airbnbs and losing her husband's insurance at one point. However, they are thankful to have a house now and for the clinical trial that Bernardo was a part of, along with his ongoing treatment. The family consistently discusses God's love and the blessings they have received.

Tamara believes that it is this love that resonates with Emilia and her deep connection to the nativity. She shares with her daughter the significance of Jesus being born into their hearts each Christmas, emphasizing that God gave them Jesus because He loves them. Tamara believes that children can understand complex concepts when explained on their level.

The heartwarming video of Emilia's encounter with Mother Mary and Baby Jesus has touched the hearts of millions worldwide. As it continues to gain traction on social media, it serves as a reminder of the power of love, faith, and the joyous spirit of Christmas.
