Controversial Gym Attire: Woman Defends Body Paint Outfit Amidst Backlash

11:04 01.01.2024

California video game streamer, Natalie Reynolds, has issued a sarcastic apology after facing backlash for wearing painted-on leggings at the gym. The incident, which took place last week, sparked outrage among gym-goers and garnered over 3 million views on social media. Reynolds, who is known for her presence on the video game streaming platform Kick and has 2.4 million followers on TikTok, filmed herself strutting around an undisclosed gym in her controversial attire. The leggings reportedly took her 5 to 6 hours to apply.

In the video, Reynolds is confronted by a fellow gym-goer who deems her outfit inappropriate and tells her she needs to leave if she doesn't have proper clothes on. Reynolds defends herself, stating that she does have clothes on and argues that her attire is no different from what male bodybuilders and YouTubers wear during their workouts. The gym-goer insists that her outfit is not suitable and reminds her that he works in the industry and knows what is acceptable.

Internet critics sided with the gym-goer, calling out Reynolds for her "degenerate behavior" and accusing her of seeking attention for internet fame. Despite the backlash, Reynolds continued to defend her position, claiming that she was wearing a sports gym workout bra and a bathing suit bottom, and that her outfit was not indecent. She suggested that society has a double standard when it comes to acceptable gym attire for men and women.

However, Reynolds surprised her followers by issuing an apology statement that was quickly called out as fake. The post, which was identical to YouTuber Logan Paul's apology following the controversial Suicide Forest incident, was labeled as satire and criticized by moderators and commenters. Many believed Reynolds was only apologizing due to the backlash she received and not because she was genuinely sorry.

The Post has reached out to Reynolds for comment on the controversy. Meanwhile, the video of the confrontation continues to circulate on social media, generating millions of views and sparking discussions about appropriate gym attire and societal double standards.
