US University Chancellor Sacked for Vegan-Themed Pornographic Videos

In a shocking turn of events, Dr Joe Gow, the 63-year-old chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, has been dismissed from his position after it was discovered that he had filmed and posted vegan-themed pornographic videos with his wife, Carmen Wilson. Under the username Sexy Happy Couple, the couple shared explicit clips online, leading to their downfall.

Dr Gow, who has been administratively suspended and is currently under independent investigation by a law firm, claims that his constitutional right to free speech has been violated. He argues that his personal life should not interfere with his professional career. However, the university board of regents unanimously decided to terminate his employment, citing "behavioural expectations" for a university chancellor.

The couple's explicit videos were not limited to just the two of them. They also invited adult video stars as guests on their cooking channel, where they would engage in sexual activities after preparing plant-powered meals. Their OnlyFans web page explicitly described these videos as "top adult video stars cook, converse and shoot sex scenes with a plant-powered couple". The couple even released two books under the pseudonyms Geri and Jay Hart, titled "Married with Benefits: Our Real-Life Adult Industry Adventures" and "Monogamy with Benefits: How Porn Enriches Our Relationship".

Jay Rothman, the president of the University of Wisconsin, expressed his disgust at the content produced by Dr Gow and his wife, describing it as abhorrent. He emphasized that the university had suffered significant reputational harm due to Dr Gow's actions.

Karen Walsh, the head of the university's board of regents, echoed Rothman's sentiments, stating that they were "alarmed and disgusted" by the couple's behavior. She emphasized that the university does not condone such actions and holds its employees to high ethical standards.

In response to the accusations, Dr Gow and Ms Wilson denied ever making reference to the university in their videos. They claimed that although they were recognizable in the footage, they had only described themselves as individuals "who serve in executive positions at two well-known organizations in the US". Ms Wilson, a former professor at the same university, expressed her belief that censoring people is not the purpose of higher education.

While Dr Gow's position as chancellor has been terminated, his status as a tenured communications professor at the university is also under review. Despite the controversy surrounding his personal life, he plans to continue teaching next spring after stepping down as chancellor.

The scandal has sent shockwaves throughout the university community, raising questions about the boundaries between personal and professional lives and the impact of such actions on an institution's reputation. As the investigation continues, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse strives to restore its image and move forward from this scandalous chapter.
