Royal Family's Unwavering Support for Prince Andrew Amidst Epstein Revelations

15:03 06.01.2024

Prince Andrew's future at the Royal Lodge and his private security funding from his brother, King Charles, are in jeopardy following his involvement in the latest Jeffrey Epstein document release, according to sources. The Duke of York has been residing at the Royal Lodge, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, since 2004 after signing a lease agreement. The residence was previously owned by the Queen Mother until her passing in 2002. Currently, Andrew shares the mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. However, insiders have revealed that these recent developments could solidify King Charles's determination to address the "Andrew problem."

An anonymous source informed the Daily Mail that there is no turning back when it comes to Andrew's public role within the royal family. While he may still be permitted to attend private and family events, he will no longer be involved in public or official engagements. The source emphasized that this arrangement has not changed. It is now rumored that King Charles will seek to relocate his scandal-ridden brother to a smaller residence, although he will not completely sever ties with him. Another source acknowledged the difficulty of the situation, stating that the association between Andrew and Epstein will never fade away, thus necessitating Andrew's departure from the Royal Lodge.

Furthermore, The Telegraph reports that King Charles is prepared to reduce Andrew's private funding for the security operation at the royal residence. According to sources, Andrew will be required to contribute millions of his own funds to cover his security costs if he wishes to remain at the Royal Lodge. This decision comes after Andrew's name appeared in court documents alongside over 200 others, implicating him in allegations of inappropriate touching. The documents were part of a defamation lawsuit filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015. One alleged victim, Johanna Sjoberg, testified in a 2016 deposition that Andrew placed his hand on her breast while she sat on his lap at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse in 2001. Sjoberg also mentioned a photograph where Andrew's hand was on her breast while a puppet of him groped Giuffre.

Reuters reported that Andrew has denied these accusations, which were previously revealed in another document release. As a consequence of his involvement with Epstein, Andrew was stripped of his royal and military honors by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and no longer holds an HRH title. The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment regarding these recent developments.

Despite the mounting controversy, a royal expert has stated that the royal family will continue to support Prince Andrew. Kinsey Schofield, a royal commentator, believes that the Firm will stand beside him regardless of the circumstances. She pointed to instances where the family has publicly shown support for Andrew, such as during their visit to Sandringham and their joint car ride to church at Balmoral. Schofield suggested that Andrew has assured the family that there are no further scandals to be revealed. She acknowledged that this situation does not reflect well on the royal family but emphasized their strategy of never complaining or explaining.

The unsealed documents also mentioned other prominent figures, including former presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who were associated with Epstein. In the deposition, Sjoberg mentioned Epstein's comment about Clinton's preference for young girls, referring to the former president's alleged involvement with underage girls. Clinton has been photographed with Epstein and has flown on his private plane multiple times.
