Arkansas airport executive wounded in shootout with ATF agent

19:39 20.03.2024

A dramatic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning at the home of Bryan Malinowski, the executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas. Federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrived at Malinowski's residence with a warrant to search his home. However, they were met with gunfire from Malinowski himself, leading to a wild firefight.

During the exchange of gunfire, Malinowski sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including a life-threatening injury to the head. One ATF agent was also shot but suffered a non-life-threatening wound. Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots and later saw authorities removing guns and ammunition from Malinowski's residence.

The Arkansas State Police have launched an investigation into the use of deadly force in this incident. Malinowski's brother, Matthew Malinowski, revealed that Bryan collected guns and other weapons, shedding light on a possible motive for the shootout.

Bryan Malinowski has been the executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport since 2019, overseeing the operations and development of the airport. He has a long history in the airline industry, having held leadership positions at airports in Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania before coming to Arkansas in 2008.

The motive behind the shootout and the details of what the ATF agents were searching for remain unclear as the investigation continues. The airport's deputy executive director has taken over as acting executive director, and the airport continues to operate as normal despite the shocking incident.
