'Euphoria' cast mourns Angus Cloud: 'Way too young to leave us'

02:53 02.08.2023

Angus Cloud's sudden death has left his Euphoria co-stars and fans in shock and mourning. The 25-year-old actor, known for his breakout role as Fezco in the hit HBO series, passed away on Monday, but the cause of death has not been released.

Following the news of Cloud's death, his cast and crew members took to social media to pay tribute to the talented young actor. Actress Storm Reid, who portrays Zendaya's younger sister in "Euphoria," shared a video clip of Cloud on her Instagram Story, accompanied by the heartbreaking message, "The tears just won't stop."

Creator of "Euphoria," Sam Levinson, expressed his grief and admiration for Cloud in a statement to Deadline. He described the late actor as "too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon." Levinson also acknowledged that Cloud had struggled with addiction and depression, just like many others, and hoped that Cloud knew how many hearts he had touched.

Executive producer and rapper Drake, who is also involved in "Euphoria," posted a photo of Cloud on his Instagram Story with the words "Good soul," alongside crying and dove emojis. Javon Walton, who played Cloud's on-screen younger brother in the series, shared several photos of the two together, captioning one with "rest easy brother" and heart and dove emojis. Another photo showed Walton and Cloud smiling while clasping hands, with the caption "forever family."

Cloud rose to fame with his role in "Euphoria," where he portrayed Fezco, a high school dropout and drug dealer. The show, which premiered in 2019, also stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Dominic Fike, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, and Maude Apatow.

Cloud's family confirmed his death in a statement to Fox News Digital. They described him as an incredible human and expressed their devastation at saying goodbye to their beloved son, brother, and friend. The family also revealed that Cloud had been struggling with mental health issues and had recently lost his father, who was his best friend.

While the cause of Cloud's death has not been officially announced, reports suggest that his mother made a 911 call mentioning a possible overdose after finding him without a pulse. The family's statement emphasized the importance of not fighting mental health battles alone and called for others to remember Cloud for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone.

The tragic loss of Angus Cloud has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones and fans alike. As the world mourns his passing, his talent, charm, and impact on the industry will forever be remembered.
