Aaron Judge's Second Three-Homer Game Solidifies Yankees History

16:50 23.09.2023

In a season filled with disappointment for the New York Yankees, superstar Aaron Judge provided a glimmer of hope and excitement for the fans on Friday night. Judge, who has been limited to just 100 games this season due to injuries, delivered a historic performance by hitting three home runs in a single game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Yankees, who currently sit in fourth place in the American League East division, have struggled to find success this year with a 78-76 record. They are seven games behind in the wild card race and are unlikely to qualify for the playoffs. However, Judge's incredible display of power gave the team and its fans a reason to celebrate.

Judge's three home runs marked the second time this season that he has achieved this feat, setting a Yankees record. The slugger's first three-homer game occurred last month during a game against the Washington Nationals, where he helped lift the Yankees to a 9-1 victory and ended their nine-game losing streak.

"It's incredible," Judge remarked after the game. "You see the list of players that have come through here, the retired numbers out there, but I just tried to do my job." Judge's performance on Friday further solidified his status as one of the greatest players to wear a Yankees uniform.

In the game against the Diamondbacks, Judge hit a three-run homer in the third inning and a two-run shot in the fifth off rookie starter Brandon Pfaadt. He then added his third homer of the night by reaching the second deck in right field with a solo drive off Slade Cecconi. Yankees manager Aaron Boone praised Judge's greatness, saying, "Those are things that, kind of the crazy things that happen, but it's just a special player. Not surprising that he's on that list."

After crossing home plate for his third home run, Judge took a curtain call from the Yankee Stadium crowd. The fans erupted in cheers, showing their love and appreciation for the superstar. Judge expressed his gratitude, saying, "Anytime Yankee fans want to show some love and appreciation, I love it. It was a pretty cool moment right there."

Judge's achievement of multiple three-homer games in a single season puts him in elite company. Only five other Yankees players, including Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Alex Rodr?-guez, have accomplished this feat. Judge's 35 home runs in just 100 games this season are a testament to his incredible power and talent.

Despite Judge's remarkable performance, the Yankees' season has been marred by disappointment. General manager Brian Cashman called it a "disaster," and the team has already shifted its focus to next year by using September games as open tryouts for future players.

Gerrit Cole, the team's star pitcher, has had a stellar season and is a strong contender for the American League Cy Young Award. However, his efforts have been wasted due to the team's overall struggles. Judge's dominance on the field serves as a reminder that his exceptional talents should not be squandered.

As the season comes to a close, Judge's performance stands as a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing year for the Yankees. While the team may not make the playoffs, Judge's remarkable display of power and determination gives fans hope for a better future.
