New Yorker who survived Hamas festival massacre stunned by antisemitism protests at home: 'Feel safer in Israel than in US'

In a shocking incident, an unidentified woman was caught on camera in Brooklyn tearing down posters of people who were kidnapped by Hamas in Israel. The incident took place in Williamsburg, a neighborhood with a large Orthodox Jewish population. The woman was seen calmly ripping down the posters from scaffolding, one by one, while a man filmed the interaction and confronted her.

The video, which was posted on Reddit, captured the man yelling at the woman, asking her why she was tearing down the posters. In response, the woman monotonously replied, "Yeah, they're innocent," as she continued tearing down the pages and crumbling them up before throwing them on the ground. The man urged her to reconsider her actions, reminding her that the victims were innocent children, babies, and elderly people who had been kidnapped by Hamas.

The woman's annoyance grew, and she aggressively shoved the torn posters in front of the man's camera before walking away with a male companion. The man continued to shout after her, emphasizing that these were innocent people, mothers, and babies who had been kidnapped.

This incident is not an isolated one, as several instances of New Yorkers tearing down similar flyers across the city have surfaced this week. An NYU student was seen tearing down the posters on campus downtown, while teenagers on the Upper East Side were also caught doing the same on their way home from school.

These posters depict the victims of the worst attack on Israel in 50 years, which began when Hamas launched a massive assault in 2023. Over 1,400 Israelis have lost their lives, more than 4,200 have been wounded, and at least 100 were taken hostage. Hamas terrorists have fired thousands of rockets and sent dozens of militants into Israeli towns. Disturbing videos have emerged showing Hamas terrorists parading female hostages down the streets.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that Israel is at war and vowed that Hamas would pay a price it has never known. Gaza health officials have reported that at least 3,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 12,500 injured.

Meanwhile, an Iranian-Israeli survivor of the Hamas attack, Natalie Sanandaji, has spoken out about the rising levels of antisemitism she has experienced since returning to the US. Sanandaji, who lives on Long Island, revealed that this is the first time in her life that she has faced such hate for her faith. Swastikas and pentagrams have appeared on Jewish businesses and public property nearby, leading to heightened fears within the Jewish community.

Sanandaji expressed her concern that history is repeating itself, comparing the current situation to the events that preceded the Holocaust. She urged people to understand that the fight is not between Palestine and Israel, but between Israel and Hamas, a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of innocent Palestinians as well as Israelis.

The survivor of the Israeli music festival attack also shared her harrowing experience, describing how she woke up to the sound of rockets being intercepted by the Iron Dome and how festival security abruptly ended the event. Sanandaji and her friends had to run for their lives and encountered terrifying moments, including being chased by terrorists and hiding in a bomb shelter. Eventually, she managed to return home to the US, only to face a different kind of battle - rising antisemitism.

Sanandaji's story serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, not only on the lives of those directly affected but also on the larger Jewish community around the world. It highlights the urgent need to address the rise of antisemitism and promote understanding and empathy in the face of such devastating events.
