Disguised as UPS worker, man commits deadly triple murder in home invasion

11:34 31.01.2024

In a shocking and tragic incident, a former UPS worker in Minnesota has been accused of killing three people inside their Anoka County home. The suspect, identified as Alonzo Pierre Mingo, allegedly carried out the fatal shootings while wearing what appeared to be a UPS company uniform. Mingo now faces three counts of second-degree murder, according to a criminal complaint filed in Anoka County Court.

During a hearing on Monday, Mingo did not enter a plea and is currently being held in the county jail with a bail set at $5 million. No attorneys were listed for Mingo as of Tuesday, and his request for a public defender was denied by the presiding judge. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 8.

The incident came to light when police responded to a 911 call that captured a possible domestic situation in the background. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered three deceased victims inside the home. The victims have been identified as Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, and her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, 20. Fortunately, two children under the age of 5, who were also present in the home, were unharmed.

Surveillance video footage revealed a blue Nissan Altima parking outside the residence at 12:21 p.m. Three suspects, two of whom were wearing clothing similar to UPS delivery driver uniforms, exited the vehicle and approached the house. One of the suspects was even seen carrying a cardboard box as if making a delivery. Further surveillance recordings from inside the home captured Mingo holding two adults at gunpoint while demanding money. The video then showed a woman being shot at point-blank range.

At 12:28 p.m., the three suspects were seen leaving the house and driving away in the same vehicle, which was registered to Mingo. Several hours later, Mingo was arrested while leaving his home in the same vehicle. During questioning, Mingo denied ever working at UPS. However, investigators discovered UPS delivery uniform tops and a UPS vest in a backpack inside his car. Subsequently, police confirmed that Mingo had been employed by UPS until early January.

This horrifying incident has left the community in shock and mourning for the loss of three innocent lives. The motive behind the killings remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. As the case progresses, authorities will continue to gather evidence and build a strong case against Alonzo Pierre Mingo.
